Botanical Garden 2019 - 2020

Paintings inspired by botanical gardens. In botanical gardens we contain far-away ecosystems to capture and preserve them. We make use of glass houses to keep exotic plants that push up against the glass reaching for the light. And yet, they must grow within their constrained spaces in order to be preserved. I see the droplets of condensation streaking down the glass and they almost look like tears from the captured plants.
